Banding, Brackets, and Rafter Tails on a New Naples Home

Brackets on New Naples Home

Three Elements Working the Same Elevation

A new construction elevation in Naples starts as a large field of stucco with openings cut into it. Whatever gets applied to that field is what separates the finished house from the massing that was framed. This project used three of our product lines to do that work, and used them together rather than one at a time.

Banding runs horizontally across the broad wall surfaces. Brackets sit under the overhangs and at the transitions. Rafter tails carry the eave line. Each one addresses a different part of the elevation, and none of them would carry the facade alone.

Specified as a group, they read as a single design intention. Specified one at a time, in separate orders from separate sources, they read as three decisions that happened to land on the same house.

One Texture Across Every Product Line

The whole package was produced in a sand texture. That consistency is the part of the project that is easy to overlook from the driveway and impossible to fix later.

Banding, brackets, and rafter tails are three separate product lines with three separate mold sets. Running them all in one texture and one finish means the surface character on the banding matches the surface character on the rafter tails twenty feet above it. The eye moves up the elevation without catching.

Sand is a finer, more restrained surface than the deep hand worked textures. On an exterior with this much trim on it, that restraint is doing real work. Heavy grain repeated across three product lines on one facade becomes noise.

Specified During the Build, Not After

This was new construction, which means the trim package was part of the build rather than a retrofit. That changes the sequencing in ways that matter to the builder.

Our estimating department works from architectural plans and returns sizes, profiles, and counts before anything ships, so the elements can be coordinated with the stucco and soffit trades instead of worked around after the fact. The parts arrive ready to install with no assembly, and they cut and trim with standard carpentry tools, so a trim carpenter can adjust in the field when an opening does not sit exactly where the plan put it.

The material is high-density polyurethane, closed cell and solid through the section. On a Naples exterior it holds up to year round humidity and salt air without taking on moisture, and it resists insects, warping, splitting, cracking, and rot. Weight is the other practical difference, since banding runs and eave line rafter tails go up without the lift equipment and structural attachment a timber package would require.

Efficient Installation Excellence

Brackets, rafter tails, and banding come in hundreds of profiles and sizes, with custom molds available when a design calls for a profile we do not already carry. All of it can be produced in a single texture and finish so the elevation holds together.

Browse profiles on our brackets, rafter tails, and banding pages, or send your plans to our office and we will put together a take off covering the full exterior package in one quote.
